Teach Soap

Does anyone else run into that "Now that I can't touch my face, my face is super itchy" problem? Like after the gloves are on and you've already handled the lye. Happens to me every time!

LOL yep! My nose always itches once I have the gloves on!

This has not happened to me but now that you mentioned it I bet the next time I make soap the itching will start. Darn power of suggestion.

I used to get itchy when I was doing things that required my full attention. What I did before I started was rub a calming lotion in my face. It worked for me!

I'm prone to sneezing fits. Like four or five window-rattling sneezes in a row.

Of course, they typically occur at inopportune times, like when I'm driving through a busy intersection, or when I have a mouthful of rice.

Is it lye fumes making your face itch? Are you allergic to your eye protection?

I do realise that this is more likely an annoying chance thing, but I thought worth just checking...

I've never had a problem with the fumes, I don't think I've so much as caught a whiff. And my eye protection is all plastic, no foamy bits or anything.

This happens to me all the time, washing the dishes and my hands are gross, my face itches. Handling raw meat, and my face itches,

Sometimes A Mistake is so much fun, You just have to do it again!

Haha I work at Petsmart, when I help folks around the hays I start to sneeze! LOVE the smell of the hay, but oh man does it bother my poor nose!

I take care of, and sell the critters / fish / etc. And occasionally they toss me on the register LOL They want me on the register full time because I could sell a book to a blind man, but I prefer to be with the critters! I also get more chance to talk to folks and make sure they have everything their critters need, because most often, they don't. 99% of the time I love my job, and 1% of the time a cranky manager makes my day he**, but it's worth it in the end!

Oh, also, I leave my debit card at home LOL If I take it with me I always come home with something for one of my 'minions' (what my hubby and I call our pets ).
