Teach Soap

So I bought a candle making kit from Nature's Garden just for the heck of it. It sounded like fun and something I was always interested in. That was a year ago. I've recently (slowly) been trying to get some information on the basics and rules about candlemaking. I really want to focus on small jars and votives right now.
Anyone have some good sites I can check out? Or help me understand and maybe your personal preferences. (major issues with me are differentiating the plethora of waxes and understanding the size and types of wicks). Thanks!!

Have you checked out the Candle Making Classes at Nature's Garden? It's got lots of different pdf's about candle making, including wick charts, how to make votive candles, how to make container candles, common candle making questions, common candle making mistakes, etc.

Check out the craftserver.com/forums it has information on just about every wax you could imagine.

I like Peak Candle dot com. Nice folks, good supplies, good help. Since I use beeswax exclusively, I have had issues with wicks not burning enough wax -- usually the opposite of everyone else. They are pretty savvy about helping you tweak your problems.

I too use Peak. Awesome folks! I get my fragrances from AHRE (aroma haven / rustic escentuals) though as I prefer theirs.
