Teach Soap

Ok, so I am having TD troubles:)

After talking with my supplier, they told me not to use oils to mix my water TD(makes sense). I tried oils once as I forgot about getting water out of my lye bucket. My last batch I used water and still ended up with TD crackles...only cosmetic but irritates me at the look of it. After much researching I found that these crackles might actually be due to the heat in my gel phase. Soooo that all blabbered out, what other ways are there to stop the gel phase...my freezer isn't big enough to house my mold! I am not a concerned gel soaper...if it does(which normally hapens) than fine and a few times it didn't gel(also fine with me) however with TD I would like to stop my gelling with 2 specific batches(like the FO so don't want to give them up)

Elevate the mold and put a fan on it if you don't have room in the fridge or the freezer.

If you have different molds, try a slab style mold with greater surface area, too.

I will suggest going down a different path. You are using the TD to whiten your soap, right? How about switching to pearl white mica? I like it and do not have the TD issues.

It does whiten nicely. I have used it in several batches and it does not take much to make it a nice white although it does have some shimmer in the finished product.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

I made a Christmas soap and sprinkled Super Pearly White mica on top for the snow. Beautiful!
