Is it better to have soap in a gift-giving type box or should I offer gift-wrapping services separate?

well you should individualy package each in a gift-giving type box.

customers will appreciate it thinking you are giving and not takeing!!

I try to use flat rate priority boxes whenever possible since you can fit up to 70 lbs. in them. I don't use an inner box, just some tissue paper between the different varieties.

Dust with arrow root

I have one of the smaller systems with a bigger system you could do maybe 8 to a row. The whole process from the first image to the last takes less than a minute.

But like I said, dusting with arrow root might solve your problems anyway. The thing with the shrinkwrap is that if you are doing large quantities, your soaps are cute enough as is so you need the ribbon at the bottom to close it, that's already done.

I wish I could be more articulate I've been pretty sick for a few days and my head just isn't functioning up to par.

MWAH!

Awesome PJ!! Thanks for doing this!

So if I can decode your ill typing  ... do you mean that you don't think I need the ribbons? Or that I could tie the ribbons on before shrinkwrapping? Also, can you estimate the cost per soap of using shrinkwrap (disregarding the initial cost of tools)? One more thing - do you have a close up pic of a finished soap?

Thanks! I think a lot of Teach Soap members will benefit from this info!

xoxo!!

In regards to Serah's question about the type of paper to use for making Soap boxes.
If you are going to printout a box template then you just need a regular 80# card stock - anything heavier wouldn't be able to go through most printers. In fact some have a hard time with the 80#. You can find this weight of cardstock at most crafts stores in the scrap booking section.

The other alternative is to make a template that you trace around. Then you can use a chipboard or a double thick card stock (like 120#) You can find these types of heavy papers at Specialty Paper stores like Paper Zone www.paperzone.com or often at your local print shop. I also like West Coast Paper Supply www.wcpc.com but you can only purchase from them through your local copy shop.

I hope this helps!
