Teach Soap

I'm thinking of putting some silk into a cold process batch. Do you put it in when the lye first goes into the mix? Do you put it into the lye/water on its own and let it sit? How long for it to dissolve and does it dissolve completely?

I add it to my water first, then add the lye so it dissolves easier. You need the heat AND the high pH of the lye water for the silk to dissolve. It only takes a couple of minutes. Just keep stirring.
