Hi,

I have been making soap for 5 years. I have a great formula using sodium hyroxide, palm oil, olive oil, coconut oil, EO and botanicals. Lately I have been adding my horrible (not hardened soap) to a perfect formula and yielding even larger horrible batches of soap. The soap is very soft and oily. Someone told me that I can melt the batches down and make soap balls. When I do this the Essential oil is dispersed, further more the soap is too crumbly to make balls. Can anyone please advise me as to what to try next. I have 8 logs of horrible soap. Please help. I cannot afford my own hobby anymore.

Thank you so much for any advise.

Anne

Welcome!
Is it possible that your olive oil is adulterated or your lye is old?

 Thank you so much! I will fix both of those areas, old lye and compromised olive oil. Any suggestions of what I can do with all my messed up soap? Also are you at liberty to recommend a company that I can get liability insurance for selling my soap?

You're welcome. For liability insurance, take a look Here> http://www.soapqueen.com/business/busin ... -industry/

PS. Are you gelling and how much are you superfatting? Did you run your recipe through a lye calculator?
