I've had a few product testers rate my SFIC base as a 3 out of 5 or a 4 out of 5 in terms of how well it lathers. I used lemongrass EO from BB as well as yellow and green micas from BB. Do some SFIC bases lather better than others (I'm sure the shave one definitely does)? Part of me wonders how well they "worked" the soap.

It will never lather as much as commercially made synthetic bars from the store. I prefer and buy SFIC base when I make MP soaps.

Ahh yes, I keep forgetting that the awesome thing about SFIC is that they don't include sulfates which is what produces that lather people love.
