Teach Soap

I've still can't figure out the color exactly Irena. Yes, it's a mauve sort of color. It's a combination of pink oxide and red/blue mica. I was hoping for it to be a light cranberry but I still like the color.

First Goat's Milk Soap. Full gel, insulated with a watchful eye
Tibetan Amber FO...loving it.

I was inspired so much by this video even though I don't know French. My FO accelerated a bit so my trace was not as thin as in the video but I still think it looks a bit artistic

Thanks Linda and Irena! I had photography in college but never did any product photos until now. Did a lot of reading. This is actually on my kitchen table taken with my iphone. I just watched where the light was coming from and put a sheet of freezer paper behind it. Well someday if I decide to sell my soap, I'll break out the good camera and see what that does. Meanwhile, I'm just focusing on learning all I can about the art of soap making. I'm having fun and totally addicted

Julie, I started off thinking turmeric and paprika. Once I put the paprika into it's part of the batch it wasn't as strong of a earthy red and was too close to the color of the turmeric part. I was hesitant to just throw more in so luckily I made a mad dash over to my other colorant samples and found red iron oxide. A bit of that (maybe 1/4 tsp.) and it got there right away.
The black is charcoal.

That's really gorgeous, Jeannine.

Watch out that you don't use too much paprika. The one time I used it, the soap ended up scratchy so I haven't tried it since. I have heard of people who soak it in the oil for a few days then strain it through a coffee filter but I haven't tried that.
