Which base does not feel so dry on your skin? Where is the best place to purchase it? Without detergent.

thanks,
Donna

I prefer SFIC base, like the ones that Bramblerry sells. They have a sample MP base pack.

Brambleberry's MP bases make beautiful soap. The ingredients are listed on the site and I don't recall any of them having sodium laurel sulfate or other common detergents. One of the things that makes their bases so amazing is that they contain sorbitol, which is both moisturizing and produces a ton of beautiful lather. They're the best bases that I've found so far.

Don't buy your bases from Michael's or Hobby Lobby. Super low quality and the soap is icky. Search for some other posts on this forum for the full deets.

Love BB's sampler pack - it's a great way to try new bases. :D

I use only the BB MP bases and I have grown quite fond of mixing equal amounts of the Shea Butter with the Goat Milk and adding 2tbl of Jojoba oil per 5lb of melted base. The BB Olive oil MP base is also nice and neither one leave your skin feeling dry after using them.

I have been using a combination of Glycerin (Clear) Goats Milk and Shea and my customers say that my soaps leave their skin clean and soft. Plus they don't melt like "store" soaps. . . In fact, I had someone from my FB page ask about my soaps for her extra dry skin, I sent her some samples and she said she no longer has red, itchy dry hands.

I just got some BB goatsmilk and I loved it. So it is ok to add alittle shea butter or oils to it. 1 tablespoon of each or just a combo of each to make up a tablespoon? I have seen several youtube people add what looks like several oils and butters that makeup about 1/2 cup to their M&P..

How is that done without messing up the soap

Adding more then 1 tablespoon total of oil or butter will make the base loose lather and can make the soap feel oily.

Do you find the olive oil base doesn't last as long as the standard one? I got it once years ago and it just seemed to disappear very fast, the bars hardly lasted any time. But it was very nice soap.
