Teach Soap

Usually, when used in soap recipes, borax is used to neutralize any remaining caustic substances. If you come across a recipe that calls for borax or citric acid, which are both neutralizing agents, run it through a lye calculator to make sure it doesn't use too mich lye.

Thanks for your reply. I am not really doing the cp soaps right now, I am mostly doing mp. But my questions is more about the bath fizzies and bath bomb receipes that have borax. The Borax would be have more direct contact with the skin than in soaps.

I make bath fizzies and I don't use Borax at all, so I think it depends on your recipe.
