This week was the first time I shipped some m&p to a friend. I knew it was a risk because the temp here has been 100 degrees. Thought I'd try anyway. This is what happened...
Two of the three melted. The two that melted were made from a crafters choice low sweat base (I'm sucker for free freight). Just some curl embeds and some peppermint EO.
The third one that didn't melt I believe was a bramble berry clear base, I don't remember which one. This had a loofah embed.
So I'm trying to sort this all out.

How do you all ship in the heat?
Are the melt points so different between the bases?

Also, I'm going to try again to make CP this weekend. Does CP melt in the heat also?

Any pointers, tips, tricks would be greatly appreciated!

It was 117 here in the desert today. I ship both CP and MP (BB's base) in this heat, but I don't do fancy curls, which could soften in the heat. Knock on wood, but I haven't had a problem with either yet.

Only 109.5 here yesterday. Way plenty for me. Just 6 days ago it didn't get above 67 and rained for two days. Crazy.

The only problem I've had with melting m and p is when it was over fragranced. Not mine but one I purchased! Too much fro and you get sticky and melty soaps serious.

Huh did the curls need the extra glycerine? Sorry I didn't see the photo so I have no idea the size.

Fo sounds like it couldn't be the problem. I only use base from BB or Stephensons. For some reason perhaps it's me but any other bases I've tried over the years are sub standard in one way or another. Perhaps with time these other bases have improved, but I stick to the ones I know.

I don't think you need added glycerine for these type of curls. You can just make a white bar of m and p soap and shave the curls with a potatoe peeler. Then they would be the same material and consistency as your bar. Just ideas here it is all a mysteriment you understand!

Pretty soap so you can keep it for home this time! Sorry it melted in the mail.

My friends and family will like the rest of it Mella lol
Things I've learned from this...
1. Only buy the highest quality base.
2. Make small curls without glycerin.
3. Hope for the best

Now I also made a big curl in these bars. I used glycerin in the thin layer I poured then curled it. Should I not use the glycerin in this also? I've not tried shipping this one. I'm thinking I really needed the glycerin to get this to curl without cracking.
