 Post subject: Avg Temp on Gelling Soap

Does anyone know thats the average highest temperature that the soap reaches when its gelling..Im ordering fragrances and i would also just like to know

I have a laser thermometer and checked one soap batch that gelled. It was 180 to 190 degrees. From what I have read, flash points don't have to do much with soap. It's their staying power, due to the ingredients. Flash point means that it will combust at that point if exposed to flame. We don't use flames when we make soap.

I got my laser thermometer from Harbor Freight. It was pretty inexpensive.
