Teach Soap

I know this subject has been beat to death... I tried a search and it said that the word coconut was too common. I have tried the soap scent review board - no luck - very conflicting opinions on the few coconut FOs that are reviewed.

WHY is it so hard to make a good coconut FO? I have tried several that were highly recommended, and they were all pretty blah. ( as in - discoloring and plastic-y)

Now I am changing tactics - willing to settle for a combo fragrance - like coconut and some tropical fruit - as long as I can still smell the coconut...

So far, I have tried NG's Aloha - and it has no coconut smell (to me) at all - just the smell of over-ripe fruit.
I see a lot of Coconut Lime Verbena type stuff.... not even sure what "verbena" is, to tell the truth...

Any recommendations?

I have not found a true coconut FO yet and I've looked and tested for years. I think I'm looking for the holy grail.
Verbena is lemony.

BB's Coconut Lemongrass is a nice, upscale fragrance. I really like it. Coconut Lime Verbena seems to be very popular, but I didn't care for it. I haven't tried any other coconut fragrances.

What about a Hawaiian tropic dupe? Here's some sites that have it.

I like BB's Coconut Cybilla but it's definitely not a strong coconut scent. Since it only gets used in blends, it works well for me.

I finally settled on NG's Creamy Coconut, made with coconut milk. I turned a creamy tan color, and I love the way it smells, and so do my customers.

I did a soap with a combination of Exotic Coconut from WSP and Tropical Elements from Moonworks. It smells heavenly. Not your average coconut scent.

Ugh, I went to order 2oz of creamy coconut from NG and the shipping was $12!!! Will stick with the coconut cybilla from BB.

Just an fyi, a verbena is just the genus of a variety of flowering plants (both annuals and perennials). There are a few hundred or more in that genus. Their flowers are small, with five petals, and they bloom in dense spikes. They come in blue, white, pink, or purple. They do not all smell citrusy, but the lime verbena does, obviously getting its name from the scent, and there is also a lemon verbena.

Class dismissed! Lol Sorry, but the herbalist/gardener in me just had to speak up. As for the coconut, I have never heard anyone say they found a good one, so I think it is as Irena says, a grail quest!
