Preferred shipping method??

OK, this post is made up of two questions:

1. When YOU'RE the customer, with cost/speed/efficiency in mind, what method of shipping do you most prefer to receive your items? USPS, Fedex, UPS, etc?

2. When YOU'RE the business owner, which method do you prefer to ship your items to your customers, keeping all of the same attributes in mind?

Just curious, as I have chosen a method (USPS Priority) and just want to see what everyone else has to say about their experiences with any of the major shippers.

As a customer, I like the fastest cheapest shipping...whoever that may be at the time

As a customer, it depends where the item I'm buying is shipping from and how fast I need it.
As a seller, I use USPS Priority flat rate as much as possible.

I always prefer USPS as a customer & as a seller. If you have a Click/ship business account, not only do you save I think 5% on the shipping cost, you get free delivery confirmation, you get to use the scan form, which gives you complete tracking from point A to point B, and you have the option of ordering their for business customers only Regional A-B & C boxes. Regional A & B are the best deals in shipping when you need something larger then the small flat rate boxes.

That's one gripe I have with USPS shipping. I can print a label online for 1st Class mail up to 13 ozs. but anything over that I have to take to the post office. In some instances it's worth it to ship Priority instead of 1st Class (even though it costs more) so I can print the label online and get a free carrier pick-up.

I can print a 1st Class label up to 13 ozs. in Paypal. I use the "multiple shipping options" link on PP's site, after I log in. I can't schedule a pick up for 1st class from the postal office by itself, but if I have at least one Priority mail package, I can schedule a pick-up for all of them.
