It's a neat idea, but it's not a good one. I see in the description that the base of the mold is "glazed ceramic." Ceramic glaze -- the glaze used on ceramic items -- is made up of powdered glass, plus different chemical additives that create its colors. Soap should never be mixed or molded in glass, as the more experienced (than me) soapers can tell you, because lye will eventually eat at the glass, cause micropitting or fissures, and eventually shatter and/or imbed shards into your soap.

I love that about soapers. And really, anyone who hand-crafts anything. It's such a creative mindset, to be able to see just anything and put it to service somehow to enhance one's craft. It's a gorgeous way to live.

I have my husband trained to spot possible soap molds now too LOL Everywhere we go one of us is always saying "OH! Soap mold!! SOAP MOLD!!!" :lol:
