Teach Soap

When you make your CP so do you have to use distilled water? or can it be any type of bottled water? also can you make a big bactch of lye water or you only make it when your are making soap?

Distilled water is preferable. Bottled water has added minerals added for taste, which you don't need for soapmaking. You can masterbatch your lye water. Just make sure it's in a safe container with a tight fitting lid, so the water doesn't evaporate.

I use distilled water, but if I were out, I wouldn't let that stop me from making soap.

If you're considering masterbatching, I highly recommend reading Kenna from Amanthia Soapworks' ebook on the subject. You can find it here for $20: . After reading it, I decided against masterbatching lye in my current soaping environment, although I'm implementing one of the oil masterbatching methods she outlines.

I use filtered water.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

Thanks guys, I dont think i will masterbatch anytime soon since i dont have the proper space to store that without my daughter getting into it. I read someone where about a masterbatch and was suprised that it could be done.
