So I've been carrying around more weight than I should since I had my youngest son 5 years ago. Later this month I'll be heading into the final year of my 30s so I decided to finally get this weight off before the big 40. Call it a midlife crisis or whatever. I'm 40 lbs down now since December 2012...and no one has noticed until I finally broke down and bought some new clothes that FIT instead of the now-oversize baggy clothes I continued to wear until this point.

All I can say is that it's been really nice wearing these new duds and having people actually notice that I'm a little thinner than I used to be. Yay. Still have more to lose, but I'm halfway there now!

Congrats! That's a great accomplishment! How are you doing it? Any specific plan?

I've been doing Weight Watchers on and off for the past few years. I've lost 80 lbs, and still have more to go. I had gained some back during the winter holidays, so I finally got back on track over the last few weeks and am happy to see the scale going down now instead of up!

I also found that most people don't notice until you buy new clothes! Makes a good argument for frequent shopping trips.

Keep up the great work! I know how hard it is!

Congratulations! I did WW for a year and the weight was coming off, just slowly. I know that's the way it's supposed to go but still it was a little frustrating. Then we went gluten free and dairy free (for my son) not too long ago. Now the weight is just melting off even though I have very little time for exercise. I feel better and have more energy too. Guess we all needed to ditch the gluten not just my son. The skills that WW teaches regarding portion control and setting up a routine and healthy environment, the planning and tracking, are all so helpful no matter what plan/ diet you're on. I spent years dreading shopping. It's so much more fun once you can just walk in and take your pick instead of hunting for the two plus size racks and leaving disappointed.
