Teach Soap

I'd been playing with a color wheel, trying to figure out what colors would go well together and not really having a bunch of luck. Most of the colors that I like personally are too close to each other on the wheel for regular color theory to make them acceptable. I decided to take a break today, and my husband and I watched The Hobbit. Talk about inspiration! I have about seven different color combinations written down now that I want to try, along with the technique to use with them! For example, red and black and gold in an ITP swirl to evoke Smaug and his hoard, or white with blue and green embeds for the snow covered mountains. I was amazed at how many scenes I said to myself, "OMG, that would be sooo pretty as soap!". lol

Where do you all get inspiration for soaps from?
