I am new here and have been lurking & reading for a couple of weeks. Just a quick intro and a qq. Anyone here from NJ/NY found a cheaper shipper for MP on the east coast? I have the link for the state by state suppliers, but want to see what y'all use. I am *still waiting for response from BB. I have done CP and make soy candles. I also make cards for OWH. This is my first foray into the world of MP and it is fun! I got my first GM & Hemp pounds from a candle supply place I have used for years. Here are a couple of samples..



Yes, I LOVE hummingbirds! I have 3 soaps out to testers and one going out in today's mail as well. A couple of the Hemp soaps are wrapped in poly bags I have on hand for my wrapped candy bars, but I switched to the saran wrap method. I design all my labels & bag toppers for my products in PSP. I am a bit concerned, from all I have read about here, the looming summer & high humidity. It is just as bad here as it was in Fla. (where I was born) Sure wish I was back in Tucson! Anyhoo...I am in love with Soap Queen and I have so many ideas floating in my head from reading all your posts here as well. One issue I have, is my alcohol is only 50%, so that is on my Dollar Tree list for at least 70%. And LOL @ me. I did NOT have a spritzer bottle for the alcohol. But what I DID have was an expired bottle of Nasal Spray! Empty, rinse well, fill and woah-la! Instant mister! I am unemployed right now, but as soon as I can, I want to get some new molds. I have an old Tupperware ® Butter Keeper, used to hold a 1# block of butter. well, the lid looks perfect to use as a small loaf mold! I will look in the barn and find a piece of PVC to possibly cut in 1/2 and convert into a mold as well.
I won't mention names, y'all know who you are, but Thank you for all the time & knowledge you share here! I actually have a list with questions I will post as I need the info. I have gleaned a ton of info! I look forward to 'meeting' you all, and joining in the fun.

Welcome to the forum.

If you're on the east coast, you might have better shipping from places like Nature's Garden Candles. But it matters what kind of MP you want to use, like what ingredients you want in your MP.

Thank you Genny! I have used NG for candle supplies. I am looking for SLS free bases. The goat milk base I got from Aroma Haven (South Carolina) is Stephenson's. Their shipping rates are great as is their delivery times. I really have a large wish list at BB, but am very concerned with their rates on shipping. Have to conserve money till a new job comes along, or someone needs a graphic/web set done. They have a kit I want to try, but I already have the tray included and wanted to swap it out of another one of equal value. I wrote them a couple days ago, but haven't heard back yet. So I am holding off ordering for now. Thanks for the welcome

I recall a thread on the co-op/shipping issue. I just ordered from Peak! I needed citronella & dye chips for candles I got from them before and I also ordered the Hemp base from them. I do belong on mailing lists for all the companys I have used in the past, Peak included! I sure wish there was a fellow soap maker near me. (Ft. Dix/McGuire AFB) my MIL just passed away. She used to make CP soap. I inherited a HUGE kettle from the 1800's from family soap making. Sadly, she had 3 holes drilled into it and made it into a planter. Thanks for the welcome.

Thanks Dragonlady. my DH & I both weld, but do not want to tackle cast iron pot. Here is a pic of the pot I have. I was taking a pic of Loki in it, silly cat!

that cauldron is awesome! one that big is very expensive nowadays. I love that setup. really kewl. and Loki is of course adorable. I have 2 kitties of my own, so yes, I'm partial.

Thank you ~Shell. I just realized though, this picture in NO way gives a hint of how big thing thing is. It simply will not in any way fit on a kitchen stove, though it looks like it might from this. I will take a new pic and measure it. The chain is no joke, it is super heavy!
