Sodium Laurel Sulfate gives it the bubbles and helps dissolve the jojoba oil, so you won't end up with a greasy bath tub ring.

Not to beat a dead horse, but I was also wondering about this frosting recipe. I made some pretty darn cute mini bath cupcakes, and I whipped up some frosting using this recipe all except for the meadowfoam oil that came in the kit for the frosting. I didn't realize this until I was cleaning up my work station and noticed that the bottle still had the packaging tape on the lid. :/ I noticed that during my test run in the tub, my frosting remained intact until I very forcibly crushed it up. Much to my chagrin, there were no bubbles, no foam, just crumbled sugar in my bath tub... Does anyone share my thought that perhaps the reason that it stayed rock hard and didn't melt was because I failed to put the oil in the mix?

ALSO, I noticed that after about a week, there were specks of discoloration in my frosting on the cupcakes. I used SoapyLove's Vanilla Frosting FO and the Vanilla Color Stabilizer that comes with it, so this shouldn't be an issue, right? (to be honest...it kind of enhanced the look because I only made plain white "vanilla" frosting.)

I want to make a fun fizzy with a little bit of a foamy treat! Help....please?!?

I don't make bath bombs, but I can answer the vanilla question. Vanilla stabilizer only works for the short term - eventually the fragrance will still darken the soap.

I make bath cupcakes quite frequently, and I would recommend not putting any fragrance in your frosting, and making your bomb part very fragrant. This way your icing stays pure white or whatever color your heart desires! When you smell the whole treat, you can't tell that the frosting is without fragrance, it just adds sweetness! :)

As far as the frosting recipe goes, I just do the royal icing. It pipes on great, sticks to the base, gets rock hard, and just melts away in the bath.

I would also recommend that you try out Jeanee's cupcake recipe on Soapqueen.com. She has a few tips that have completely changed my cupcake making. (The set up time in particular!)

Have fun! These are a blast to make!
