Teach Soap

I ordered a bunch of FO samplers from BB, and after getting them (and spending all night sniffing and trying to figure out which ones to try first), I got hooked on fragrances. I have a ton of FO's that I was using in MP soap, that I don't think can be used in CP soap, so I have to buy new ones. Well, at least that's what I'm telling my husband to explain why I needed to buy so much!

Anyway, I ordered about nine scents from Essential Depot - Bergamot, Grapefruit, Lemongrass and Tangerine EO's and Berry Breeze, Chocolate Fragrance, Mango Madness, Ocean Breeze and Rose Garden FO's. Now that the box is set to show up tomorrow, I'm going through buyer's remorse and wondering if these are good fragrances at all. Has anyone used these and if so, were there any problems?

I haven't used Essential Depot's fragrances. The essential oils are easy to work with but can make your soap yellow to orance due to their color. Sounds like you have some fun soaping ahead of you!

With the addition of this box, I have enough new scents that I could make soap for the next year and not run out of stuff to try! I'm even modifying one of my loaf molds to divide it into three parts, so I can test smaller batches and see what I like, what fades, etc. Thank goodness for a hubby who's willing to let me use him for manual labor!

Lol that's always helpful! My husband has made and lined molds for me. He even helps me break down larger amounts of oils into smaller containers. He may not understand why I love soaping so much but he understands I love it.

I havent tried any of their FO's but I LOVE all the EO's iv'e gotten from them

So I got my batch, and just sniffing, I love the EO's. The bergamot and grapefruit, specifically smell fantastic and I can't wait to soap with them! I'm having my doubts about the FO's though. All of them smell very slightly off somehow, like it's more chemical-y than it needs to be. I don't know if the undertones will go away in soaping or not. I'm definitely excited to try them, but for right now, they're kind of suffering in comparison to the fantastic BB samplers I have.

I haven't used any of their FO's but have used their EO's and the one's I've ordered have been good....and cheap. Almost too good to be true, cheap, but so far so good. I just made an orange/clove CP soap this past weekend. Smells heavenly. I was expecting the clove to give me trouble, but it soaped fine. I have another order on the way with anise (oos at BB), geranium (way cheap) and lavender. Hopefully they will be just as good and at least get to try all the EO's that are out of my price range anywhere else.
