I don't really make melt and pour soap that often so in the past I have always used Saran Wrap. I have a few orders that I have to start making in a couple months for a few weddings this summer and a couple orders are for my mp flowers that I make for wedding favors. I was just wondering what everyone else uses for wrapping. I know I've read a lot of people use shrink wrap for their mp but there are so many different kinds I'm not sure what to use. Any suggestions?

Since MP is all I ever do right now.. I brought a shrink wrapping system from the ShrinkWrapStore.com you get a heat gun and a sealer for about 60 bucks I think. But you can buy the sealer only. just google it. Might come in handy for cp too.

I use shrink wrap, had just been buying a roll of it from a craft store, like Hobby Lobby or Michaels. I recently ordered some shrink wrap bags from papermart.com ( ) to see if it's cheaper that way, and I think it will be. They have a bunch of different sizes and it's hard to know what will work best for the majority of the shapes you use. If you order keep in mind that they don't have a gusset so they only open so wide, and they don't stretch at all.

Pros of the roll is being able to custom cut the size you need or even to use it for a gift basket and other things that may come up. Cons are that I often overestimate the size I need and waste a lot anyway, and it's time consuming to cut, wrap, and tape.

Pros of the bags so far (only got them a week ago) is the convenience of dropping it in a bag and folding it over - I don't have to use tape because I just adhere the fold with the label I'm using. It's a lot faster than cutting a piece from the roll and wrapping it. Cons are that if the bags are too big the corners don't always shrink flat, leaving a big wad of plastic sticking out, although that might be my technique since I'm just getting used to them.

People I've shown my soaps to comment on how professional they look, like they're from a store, lol.

We use this http://www.uline.ca/BL_2107/4-Mil-Poly- ... words=poly roll. We cut what we need and use an embosser to seal, no need for a heat gun. I think a hair dryer would work too.

Also doubles as a round mold, just pour the soap in to make a perfect round mold. I could never get the soap to release from a PVC mold, the plastic just peels off.

National Shrink Wrap for sure. Not only does their stuff work really well but they are VERY helpful with questions.

I got the 14" shrinkwrap system back in 2008. I use it non stop with soaps and fizzies and baskets. they even have biodegradable shrink film.

their kits come with a heat pad, heat gun, shrink wrap, and a melting wand to cut the wrap.

Have you seen this video? Sometimes, switching to a slightly thicker saran wrap + using a heat gun will get you extremely good, consistent results that you can smell through:

I was having problems with saran wrap burning through even though I was moving the heat gun really fast, so I bought some 2x3 craft bags for holding treats or beads from my local craft store. I've been using them and they work beautifully, since I store my stuff in individual totes along with an unwrapped sniffy sample (super saturated with the same fragrance) I end up with scented labels on my baggies, so people can smell it that way. My bags also zip, so they can unzip and sniff them too. I use a 4x5 bag for my full size (3.5) oz bars.
