Does anyone have a recipe for Salt Soap Bars for Melt and Pour? Just an idea that popped into my head and I'm wondering if it would work.

I've done it by just using equal weight salt to equal weight MP, but it gets thick really fast. So, I pour my soap in the mold & then add the salt to that.

Just regular table salt? Or does it have to be a special kind?

Played with this for you today.

I was able to get all of the salts to mix into the M&P by first heating the salt in the toaster oven to 180F+ then adding it to hot M&P. This allowed them to mix, then if you stir until it feels like it is about to hit trace and pour it, you can get a a good salt/M&P mix without separation.

I used an ~2 : 2.5, salt : M&P ratio

I did it to all the salts BB carries plus Epsom for good measure.

Dendritic and Himalayan mixed in just fine and did not do anything negative to the soap. They both work well as soap bars. The pink salt was my favorite, providing good color and texture.

Epsom and Dead sea I was able to get to mix in, however, neither bar "solidified" instead remaining a goopey mess. I imagine I could get them to work as a solid bar, but I would have to drastically cut down on the salt content.

40 minutes. Still experimenting. The lather with these bars is not great ...
