Teach Soap

I found this recipe online and it doesn't have water in it, so does it need a preservative? Also, is there anywhere that maybe will help me know which preservatives are for what? Are certain ones made for different items? Or do they all kind of work the same? Here is the recipe:

-1 cup aloe vera gel-1 teaspoon vitamin E oil-3/4 ounce beeswax, grated or broken into small pieces-1/2 cup almond or grapeseed oil-1 tablespoon cocoa butter (I added this for a slightly more luxurious lotion during the winter, but this is optional.)-10 drops essential oils of choice (optional)

Aloe is a water based product, so yes, this would need a preservative. Plus, you'd be putting fingers in it.

Also, I'm thinking that without a proper emulsifier, this lotion would separate after a while.

Thanks! How much emulsifier would I know to add? Is there a way to calculate that?

Cups and teaspoon are not accurate. It will separate over time, unless you add an emulsifier like e-wax (or E-wax NF). As far as preservatives, I would read this sticky I posted> viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5032
This doesn't look like a good recipe to me. What are you thinking of making?

I am totally new to this and was thinkng of making a lotion, and I had googled "non greasy lotion recipe" and this is one of the recipes that came up. Do you know of a good lotion recipe that isn't greasy.
