Good for you Melissa! I don't see green, but that could be from any fragrance or essential oil added.

Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Fruit,Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride ,Kaolin and fragrance. is what's in it.. sorry pictures wouldnt take a clear shot of it... I think I need a more costly camera instead of a budget one. When in person you can clearly read the ingredents. just the picture angle i think.

I know that you aren't selling this, so it doesn't matter at this point, but you cannot use "shea butter" in the name of this product at all according to labeling regs. Also, for any other name that you use, such as "sleep time", you will need to check the phrase to make sure that it is not trade marked. I am not pointing this out to be nasty, just so that you can prepare if you ever intend to sell.

Congratulations on creating it! Whipped Shea butter is product a lot of people really like, especially in the Winter!

I am so glad you knew that already! No worries then, I almost didn't say anything, but in case someone else saw it and just jumped into doing it, I wanted to make sure you and they knew it was a no no. labeling is such a huge job and can be very confusing! Soooo many hats, too little time to just formulate and make! :D

Awesome! I just love shea butter creams. I used to buy the expensive department store lotions because I felt I really needed them to keep wrinkles away, but this past fall no matter what I tried my skin always felt dry and tight. Every time I went to the store, they were happy to sell me even more products that didn't work. So I researched the best creams to use, and started making my own with shea, vitamin E, and grapeseed oil. I haven't been back to the department store since! Mine work better.

I still haven't found my perfect recipe yet, can't seem to get the consistency the way I want it - smooth and spreadable but thick, rich, and quick to absorb. This last batch I tried some hemp oil because I really love the hemp soap base, but it's way too greasy. So I got a good foot lotion out of that batch! Waiting until I have the time to make some more.

Now my husband wants his own special lotion for his calloused hands. But different from mine so it doesn't feel girly.

I know shea butter and coconut oil are greasy so added a little kaolin clay to it.. not much just like two TBsp.. but I know I will find something else to use as it was too grainy now I've used it. but it goes away if you rub it long enough.
I also thought whipping shea butter wouldnt work.. but I put it in my mixer (kitchen aid) and whipped it.. had turned around from washing something and boom it had doubled in size and volumn.. I was very happy. I then put it all in a gallon size zipped bag.. cut a corner and pipped it into my jars... becuase it was so fluffy it was making a mess. piping was the best option for me... now the labels different story... still trying to find the thread post about how to make them stick. for the next time.. I just taped them with clear tape.... though not very pretty to me... it works. I got alot of help from the forum. its a good thing.

Melissa, try wiping your jars with rubbing alcohol and letting them air dry before putting your labels on. The alcohol cleans the outside of the jar and gets rid of all the oil from your fingers, etc. :D
