Teach Soap

I was wondering if anyone owned one and while using added a couple drops of essential oil into the water tank to add a fresh scent while mopping. I have one and even though steamed water cleaning my floor shouldn't have a scent to me it does and I think it stinks. Just wondering if anyone has tried it.

I don't have a shark, but I have a Dirt Devil steam mop and in the warning book it came with it specifically said not to add essential or fragrant oils to the water because they can ruin the plastic water holding tank and tubes that the water goes through. Makes complete sense to me since I've seen pictures of eo ruined counter tops & tables.

I figured. I just thought I'd ask. I wish there was something I could put in there to make it smell a little better.

I wonder if using a solubilizer like polysorbate 20 would minimize the oils' impact on the plastic. It definitely wouldn't get rid of it, but it might minimize it if you wanted to scent using EOs.

Can you just put a few drops on the cleaning pad rather than in the tank?
