Teach Soap

I get my M&P base from Wisterialane (an SFIC base). The Wisterialane website says that their soap base contains NO sugar or alcohol solutions. However, the ingredient list says they contain Sorbitol and Sorbitan oleate. Isn't the first a sugar alcohol? and the second derived from the first? Or am I not understanding something? I'm concerned because of how I'm marketing my soap...I want to make sure I'm being accurate. Thanks!

Sorbitol is a sugar alcohol http://personalcaretruth.com/2011/06/a- ... -sorbitol/ and yes sorbitan oleate is derived from sorbitol.

I'm assuming that when it says "no alcohol solutions" they're referring to propylene glycol

According to their ingredient list, the base contains both. Maybe it's just a marketing ploy.

Could be a play on words.

"NO sugar or alcohol solutions"

A solution implying that the product is dissolved in something.

I could hand over a bag of granulated sugar and say "There is no sugar solution in here", and it wouldn't be a lie!

It's alwyas good to know our ingredients, that's for sure!
