I am having some issues with my soap getting thick and goopey before it's ready to be poured into my mold. I melt my base from Brambleberry in a glass pyrex in the microwave for the appropriate time for the amount of soap I'm melting. When I first take it out, it's nice and running. While I wait for it to cool to the right temp to pour (125-135) it starts to get clumpy and goopey. I end up losing a portion of my soap in the pyrex because it gets so thick. Any suggestions on how to fix this or what might help?

Are you stirring it & scraping off the sides of the cup during this time?

Yes I am constantly scraping the sides because the soap sticks to the sides and clumps up.

Which BB base are you using? The LCP one?

If so, yeah, I've always had that problem & honestly never found a "fix" for it, so I just stuck with the regular base. But I live in Wisconsin & humidity is not an issue here.

How hot are you heating it to melt it? One possibility is that the soap may have been overheated. When I'm doing MP, I always do small 15-30 second bursts at half power in the microwave until it's nicely melted.

Just like I don't like burning my butters when melting them for CP, I'm as retentive about doing the same with MP.
