Teach Soap

After making a couple bars of MP soap and some sugur scrub cubes(which did not end up looking like the photo on the soapqueen blog lol but work wonderfuly) I was going to attempt some lotion bars and order this kit http://www.brambleberry.com/Lotion-Bar- ... P3295.aspx from Brambleberry. Can I use the same utensils and pyrex measuring cup I used making the MP soap? Do I need to wipe everything down with alcohol before beginning?

Im also ordering the beeswax lotion sample http://www.brambleberry.com/Beeswax-Lot ... tions=8893
Can I put the lotion back into the original bottle after warming and adding the FO? Or would it be safer to get a new clean bottle?

And can anyone recomend a good lotion making book for a beginner.

Welcome to the forum

You can use the same utensils that you use for making your soap. Just make sure that they're clean & spraying them with alcohol would help.

For the lotion, I would get a new bottle. It's most likely more sterile.

Brambleberry has a couple good books with lotion recipes.

Do not warm up any lotion or a base! You will most likely negate the preservatives that are in it. Weigh your lotion into a ziploc bag and add your FO into it. Then mix it with your hands on the outside of the bag. You can cut a small corner in the bottom of the bag and squeeze out the lotion into a bottle.
