Hi all,

I have an easter egg mould with which is supposed to have like a swirly band around in which wud look nice in a different colour. I have tried to gently spoon it in but with it being pretty shallow its not working and also with it being 'egg' shaped how do I 'get up the other side?
Or do I just do them in a solid colour?

Any help would be great,

thanks

Heather

Do you have a link to the mold you are talking about? That might help in trying to visualize it. Also, if you have a pic on what you're trying to do with it, that would be helpful as well.

I think I know what you mean. You can pour a little on the bottom of line and leave it to harden, then tilt the mold to one side, pour, harden, then the other.

Or you can just do one pour and use soap paint on the finished bar.

Hiya, thanks for the help, here is a photo of the mould.

What is 'soap paint'?

Those are cute Easter eggs! You can try putting a different color soap into the indents of the patterns, let it start to harden, then pour your main color over it. I have found when trying to make detailed soaps with that method that if I let it cool too much, my detail peels off or comes detached from the main piece of soap after I unmold it. I think it has to be slightly hardened but not cooled to pour another color over top, and make sure the soap you pour isn't too hot or it will melt the patttern. A spray of rubbing alcohol on the pattern before pouring the main color is supposed to help it stick as well.

Soap paints are colors you can pain the soap with after unmolding. I actually just bought some but haven't had a chance to try them out yet. I think there are some folks here who do that, hopefully they will see this post to tell you more about it. :D
