Teach Soap

I'm interested in making a shave soap with 1lb of base, 1/2 tsp of shea butter, and 1/2 tsp of clay. My question is actually about the shave brush, though... I found some inexpensive mugs, but the cheapest shave brushes I can find are $7.50 each. This means I'd have to make my soap at least $11 to see a little profit. How do you guys successfully market this soap? I can't imagine it would sell very well without the brush, but that makes the package so expensive!

Forget the cheap brushes. $7.50 for a brush is cheap for my wet shavers. I would just sell the soap and the mug.

Thank you guys for the advice. I'll skip the brush and maybe add a washcloth instead, to make the package more complete.

Why not offer a better quality brush as another item they could order. I am sure they would not need a new brush with each mug of soap. Do you ever sell local? If so you could even offer a cheaper refill of the mug. Lets save some landfill space.

That's a great idea, Bubbles. I haven't started selling locally yet but that's the plan, once the craft fair/street market season starts. I'll make sure to make those options available.
