Your booth looks very inviting. I hope you do better at the next show.

Thanks so much. The one I am doing this Saturday is a school fall festival. Not really expecting it to be a blow out however they only allow one type of vendor so I know I will be the only soaper there. Maybe I will get lucky :)

I love your display! When I see it it makes me think two things- professional, and lush... like your products are super rich and high quality. Did the other soapers have similar displays to yours, specifically regarding the U shape layout? I've read a lot of pros and cons for that shape. Some love it, but a lot of people think that the shape is off putting, because people are more likely to pass on by than to enter that space where they are "trapped." Did you talk to the other soapers? I almost wish these craft fairs were more team-like than competitive (says the lady who was just complaining about Scentsy in another thread... but I was really friendly with the Pampered Chef AND Tupperware people, and the Pampered Chef lady even offered to watch my booth if I needed to get food because I was at the show by myself, which was super nice of her!). I mean, I wish we could go up to other soapers at shows and be like "how did you do?" and be honest and compare what worked well and what didn't. Maybe some do that, but I wouldn't be comfortable. Did you have a chance to talk to the other soapers?

Actually I had originally planned to do an inverted u ( I would be trapped in the U space ) so people could walk around the edges of the tents however when I got there and saw my space it was in the woods and on a hill  and my front table was leaning to much so plans changed. I am going to try it that way this coming Saturday. I wasnt really trying to go for "fancy high class" and didnt set this up before hand so it just kind of ended up that way. I was actually going for kind of an exotic India/Persian look since my banner reminded of a "magic carpet" and found these really great old timey looking trunks at Hobby Lobby to set my soaps and lip balms in. I did get a chance to walk around a little and I would say I was probably the most "fancy booth" there. The other 2 soapers just has their soaps in crates and only had one table. I tend to get carried away some times ( must be the inner interior decorator in me ). Is there anything anyone could recommend that I might need to change? Most people who came in did buy something or at least came in and walked out with a business card. Maybe it did put off people ( either the shape or looked to expensive ) However my prices were actually cheaper than the other 2 soapers ( at least I know my soap was ) My soaps are $4, Body Butters $6, Lip Balms $2, Liquid Soaps $5, Candles $6, and the Bath Truffles $4. I also had specials Soap 3 for $10, Liquid Soap 3 for $12 and Body Butter 3 for $15. I will also be offering gift baskets this Saturday for $15 consisting of a candle, soap, body butter, and a lip balm

Your display looks wonderful! I agree it does have a professional polish to it. Good luck this weekend!
