I am not sure about the site you asked about, but the price looks good. As for the preservative issue, many naturalist disagree about the use of chemical preservatives. Whether or not the class you take teaches you to add a preservative, ultimately it is you that has to read, study, investigate (and I mean medical studies and journals, not pop culture books that just repeat bad information and call it truth) and then decide for yourself what you need to do. IF you want to be completely natural then you will also need to invest a lot of money in lab tests and make extra sure your liability insurance is up to date. I say that rather tongue in cheek, but it is also very true. Still, I know those that do put short shelf lives on their products, tell clients to refrigerate and add a ton of antioxidants and call their stuff "naturally preserved. " Since even the scientists disagree about the efficacy of some EO's in regards to product preservation, we all can disagree too. I am not saying what I believe, I am simply saying that you can take a class that is perfectly good in all respects, and still have them not advocate a chemical preservative in an aqueous toner. That is not the stick by which I'd judge.
I also would not judge on the fact that they offer an animal aromatherapy class. There are many Naturopathy Vets that utilize Bach treatments, EO therapy, various massage and even acupuncture treatments. Robert Tisserand and others of his level of expertise have stated/shown that there is no danger in using such treatments on dogs and cats (although there are other animals that cannot tolerate them, such as birds) as long as you know what you are doing. As far as general use in your home, he also states/shows that aromatherapy is not a danger to your cats or dogs as some suggest. Since I was under the misapprehension that cats were potentially in danger if one used aromatherapy in the home, I found his website articles on this subject quite interesting, as well as a similar discussion on a panel between Tisserand and several other scholars and scientists. Very interesting indeed!
Whatever you decide, enjoy and remember that nothing anyone says is gospel. If you aren't sure or disagree, research it yourself and see where that leads you!
