Teach Soap

Some time ago, I saw vegetable storage shelves in a catalog. Being a soaper, what I saw was a soap curing cabinet. Gorgeous.....but too expensive for me. I was just perusing a favorite site, by Ana White, who builds things and posts the plans so that you can duplicate them. Sometimes she shows how to build knock offs of Pottery Barn, or other catalog items. Well, much to my surprise, there was the vegetable cabinet!!! I have no carpentry skills, but I've never let that stop me from trying to build things. Sometimes it works out OK, sometimes not so much. But with actual plans for how it's really supposed to be made, I think even I can put this together. I would make a few changes, like casters on the bottom, and screening material on the trays themselves. I've always wanted more room for curing and I think at some point I will give this a try. If you're handy, or know someone who is, you may want to give this a look. I'm never sure how to post links, so I'm going to put a space in the middle. If that's not right, please let me know. Just FYI, putting a space in the link makes it sure not to work. To post a link you can cut and paste the link URL from the address bar at the top of your page, then when posting here you click the URL button. [url][/url] will appear in your post with the cursor right in the middle, just paste the page URL into that space and it will act as a link. Or just paste the url and if it doesn't appear as a link others can copy and paste it into their browser.

I did manage to find the page you were talking about, it does look like it would be an amazing soap curing station! It's so compact looking but I bet you could fit a lot of soap! That may be a future honey-do project for my husband!

Wow, you read my mind! I have been looking for something like that, I have googled, bakers buns trays and found some for about US$120, they were just what I wanted, but they want $800 to send them to Australia!
I will just have to try and make one!

And, um, what is hot linking? I hope it's not copying and pasting a link so others can click it and be directed to the site, because I have done that before... But I'm assuming it's not that, because that is what is being done here. So what exactly is it?

I will ask about this as I have not heard before.

For now just keep posting the links. That is how the comments are set up and how we have been doing it all these years. If there was a problem I think our web designer would've given us a heads up.

I asked my computer guru and he said that hot linking is for images only. Hotlinking refers to displaying an image on a forum by linking to the same image on another website, rather than saving a copy of it on the website on which the image will be shown.
