Whipped Amber Bronzing Butter DIY

What You’ll Need:
Three 8 oz. Glass Bail Jars
6 oz. Avocado Butter
6 oz. Coffee Butter
4 oz. Cocoa Butter
8 mL Amber Fragrance Oil
3 mL Ancient Sedona Fragrance Oil
2 Tbs. Tapioca Powder
4 tsp. Copper Sparkle Mica

ONE: Put the cocoa butter in a heat safe container and melt in the microwave on 1 minute bursts until the butter is fully liquid. Cocoa butter melts around 100 degrees F, so make sure to use a container that can withstand high temperatures. Be careful when removing the container from the microwave as it will be hot. Set aside.

TWO: In a large bowl, add the coffee and avocado butters. Whip the butters using a hand or stand mixer until completely smooth. Make sure to scrape the sides of the bowl periodically to ensure everything is mixed together. Whip for several minutes on medium speed.

TWOTHREE: Take the temperature of your cocoa butter. You want the butter to be about 120 degrees or cooler. Slowly and carefully add about a quarter of the melted cocoa butter to the bowl. Whip to fully incorporate.

THREEFOUR: Continue adding small portions of the cocoa butter to the mixture. Whip between each addition. When all the cocoa butter is added, whip for several minutes until everything is fully incorporated and the butter is smooth.

FOURFIVE: Add the Ancient Sedona and Amber Fragrance Oils and whip for 10-15 seconds to fully incorporate. The butter will lighten as it cools.

SIX
SIX:
Next, add the tapioca powder and use a spatula to mix it in. When the powder is mostly mixed, whip with the mixer to fully incorporate.

SEVEN
SEVEN:
Add the Copper Sparkle Mica to the butter. Whip with the mixer until it’s fully blended and then test a small amount on your skin. If you want a darker color, add more Copper Sparkle Mica until you get your preferred shade. Spoon the butter into jars and seal.

EIGHTNINEThe butter should be stored in a cool, dry place. If it gets hotter than 90 ° F, it can melt. As the cools it will become a foamy, light texture – similar to mousse. You can see below what the butter looks like on fair skin. When it’s worked into the skin, the color will be lighter.
