Groovy Peace Sign Melt and Pour Soap

Peace Sign Melt and Pour

What You’ll Need:
11.6 oz. White Melt and Pour Soap Base
.3 oz. Flower Child Fragrance Oil
Set of 12 LabColors (Small)
Peace Mold
Optional: 99% Isopropyl Alcohol and droppers

DILUTING LABCOLOR: You will have to dilute your LabColors for this project. We recommend diluting the small size of LabColor in 4 ounces of distilled water. Learn more about diluting LabColors here.

ONE: Add drops of the diluted LabColor into each cavity of the mold in a random pattern. You can choose whatever colors you like! We used Blue Mix, Canary, Emerald, Red and Orange colors. Don’t add too many drops, or the colors can get muddled. We put about 10-15 drops into each mold cavity.

ONETWOTWO: Cut up 11.6 oz. of the White Melt and Pour Base into even, small pieces. Put your melt and pour pieces in a heat-safe container. Melt the soap in the microwave on 20 second bursts, making sure to stir in between each burst. Microwaving on short bursts prevents the soap from burning. Read more about how to prevent that here.

THREE: Pour .3 oz. of Flower Child Fragrance Oil in the melted soap and mix in fully.

THREEFOUR: Carefully and slowly, pour the soap into each cavity. The drops of color will swirl as the soap is poured in.

FOURFIVE: Put a chopstick or dowel at the bottom of each cavity and swirl the soap around. Just do this once or twice, otherwise the colors may start to mix together.

SIXFIVESIX: Spray the top of your soap with 99% isopropyl alcohol to disperse any air bubbles. Let the soap cool, which takes around 2-4 hours. To release the soap, pull at the sides of the mold cavities to break the air lock. Flip the mold over and use your thumbs to push the soap out. If the soap doesn’t want to release from the mold, pop the mold into the freezer for 10-15 minutes. Then, push out of the mold with your thumbs.
