I ordered granulated lye, thinking it would be easier, instead of the crystal sized from BB. it came in 4 separate bottles, 2 lbs each.
the first bottle was fine, this second bottle is a serious pita! its very static like. as soon as i uncap it the little tiny pellets are flying all over. pouring it into the measure cup on the scale is a disaster of epic proportions because its literally flying out. Is there anyway to minimize the mess with this stuff. i hate to toss it as a loss because i still have two full bottles.

Humidifier? Dry weather is causing the static. You could try wiping the lid with a dryer sheet, being very careful, of course.

I live in the south east, we don't know what dry is :lol:
I just finished scrubbing down my kitchen, again! Grrr. I will try a dryer sheet.

As soap making happens most everyday here, I will do the dryer sheets and report back on how well it worked. I'm waiting on a bramble box that should be here tomorrow or the next day.
I had lye granular everywhere! All over my stove, and counters, I know it hit the floor. It took me forever to clean to the satisfaction that I could walk in there barefoot :oops:
