I'm part of a mom's online group and a discussion recently centered around eczema and soap. One lady commented that it didn't matter how "natural" a soap was, the only kind she could use was triple milled soap.
I'm not going to enter into the discussion

, but my curiosity is peaked. Does triple milled soap really feel that different? Or is it just the name that makes people think it is better/milder/less irritating?

Most triple milled soaps are synthetic based. If you triple mill (rebatch) handmade soap, it will be crumbly and drying. Most commercial soaps are triple milled, so they can add color, fragrance and the glycerin back in more easily. This is done with commercial extruders and it's beyond most soapmakers.

Long ago I thought triple milled meant it was grated, melted and set three times.
