Hi All,

Been a lurker for a LONG time and haven't made soap in a few months, but hubs made a mold last nite so I made a batch. Is it always necessary to cover the top with saran wrap to prevent soda ash? I had a nice swirly thing going on and of course it gets ruined this way.

I don't cover mine with saran wrap, instead I spray some alcohol on the top of the soap and then just make sure the top is somehow covered. If I'm doing a textured top, then I just put my mold in a big cardboard box.

Thank you!! I totally spaced the alcohol thing!! Doing this next batch cause I am bummed that my top looks like crapola now.
