Teach Soap

aside from pinecones which I have what things would you need for them. the youtube videos are very helpful in materials list. not like soapqueens video which are very helpful. I would be using this mainly for my outdoor fire pit when guests are over and unburned deco pinecones. thank you

PS search this forum for the answers but didnt come up with any threads thus why I am asking. I will not be selling or giftgiving these pinecones.

I've seen them done at a demo in the town where I live. They simply dipped them in wax repeatedly until they had a nice coating. They looked pretty and smell nice but I'm not sure how great they actually work as a fire starter. If you wound a wick in them and lit it it wouldn't get hot enough to ignite the pinecone. They take quite a start to get them going. The wax might get messy or just prevent it from burning enough. I burn pinecones all the time because I have so stinkin many of them. I just wrap them in twisted paper, then stuff it into the middle of the wood and light the paper. That gives it enough to get the pinecone going and they start great fires. If you have small firepit don't use more than one at a time because they can get it going real good and make sure kids stay back because they can pop pretty fierce. I think small wax dipped ones in an bowl would look nice though.

I've made them but mine don't work well as fire starters. I add scent (like candle safe cinnamon fragrance oil) to make the room smell good. I add mine after the fire is already burning. I don't sell them. They are just for me.

I didnt count them but i think there's alot of them.. luck for me I brought 5 lbs of wax ,... woohoo... dont worry I plan to use them as deco objects and not firestaters. will post pics when there done.

You'll want to make sure they are dry before you wax dip them, or they can mold. Usually 6-8 hours in a 125*F oven will dry them out. Or you can leave them in the house for around 2 months for the same amount of drying!
