Connie, thanks for the information on coal, I did not know that. My mold is a purchased one. I doubt I could even find coal in this area of the country. I understand about the fragrance... mine were for all adults so I wanted an adult scent. I am not sure if I will make any this Christmas as we will be out of state.

Melissa... I love the crayon soaps.... the wrappers are perfect. What if you made one batch, then made a second batch and while still liquid sprayed with alcohol and set the previously made one on top?

I learn so much when I can't leave well enough alone!

I love doing classic soaps on ropes. Over the past year fewer and fewer suppliers carry the pre-made heat-sealed ropes that I've been using. Waiting now for BB to re-stock the one I want. I have a big red reminder on my calendar so I don't miss it. I tried making my own, with mixed results. Equipment to do them right is expensive, and I don't have any space left here.

So, tried something new, using sheer (organza-like) ribbon, which dries really fast. I also do them using fun, polka-dot grosgrain ribbons. Color combinations are endless and ribbon is available all over. Whole different look from the classic one, but same idea. Not sure it'll fly.
