Teach Soap

Which types of oils tend to be most commonly bothersome to skin? Such as peanut oil, I would never use because so many people can be so highly allergic to peanuts. I was told that possibly Shea butter might cause more allergic reactions. I was curious what other oils can be an irritant and are more common to avoid. Does olive oil tend to be the most mild? I'm wanting to try making a very soothing soap that would be great for someone with chronic itchy skin.

Everyone's skin is different. It's hard to pinpoint any particular oils. Peanut oil goes rancid too fast in soap. For those with latex allergies, shea butter can be problematic. It's different for everyone. My daughter is allergic to lavender, so you just never know.

I really liked shea butter or cocoa butter in my soap, but it made my son break out terribly. I now just use mango butter and everyone is happy!!
