Teach Soap

I took a CP soap making class; made a very basic soap with tallow, water and lye. The soap has been curing since 11/3 and I noticed today some brown spots on the bars. At first I thought maybe the tallow was molding but then I heard someone talk about lye seeping out and how if that happens the bars are unusable and must be discarded. I'm trying to attach a photo but the file size is too large. I'll keep trying and appreciate thoughts.

Is it brownish orange? Because it could be DOS or "Dreaded Orange Spots" that signal rancid oil/fat was used in the soap making.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

I'd still be zap testing it to be on the safe side. I had one batch I made that was hard as a rock and flaking off, but it did not zap. Then I rebatched it and got lye pockets. I still don't know how this happened, but I threw the batch out for safety reasons. The soap was a pink swirl in white. The lye pockets looked like gray or silver spots of various sizes. I had never been zapped before -- but I definitely was this time.
