Could anyone tell me if the following ingredients would be considered vegan?

Caprylic/Capric/Stearic Glycerides

These are the ingredients in ButterEZ, which I use in my lip balms.

At a show a couple of weekends ago, someone was asking about unflavored lip balms. I thought I'd make some up and use either candelilla or carnauba wax instead of beeswax, but have no idea if the stuff in the ButterEZ shoots the vegan label right out of the water.

According to Vegsource.com the ingredients could be of possible animal origin. The only way to know for sure is to either contact your supplier or the manufacturer. My husband is vegan which is partially the reason I started making our own personal products and I have learned that animal byproducts are hiding everywhere! I learned this lesson with my steric acid. On one of anne maries tutorials on lotion making she talks about steric acid being derived from palm. After researching some more on it I found out that not all of it is and of course what I ordered was from Bovine ( I had no idea what that was and had to google it ). Now im stuck with steric acid that I cant use Good thing it was only a couple bucks!

caprylic/capric triglyceride is fractionated coconut oil. It is vegan.

The caprylic/capric part is fractionated coconut oil, The Stearic part of it is what you need to look into

Thanks for the heads up about stearic acid! I shall have to look into what I have! I too want to do a vegan friendly line! My dad was vegan for about 10 years! I tried, but almost died... oops? I'm B12 deficient and didn't know it, so my B12 bottomed out and I spent a week in the hospital, now I have to eat meat AND inject B12! I have nothing but respect for those who go animal-free! <3
