Teach Soap

Well, *finally* got around to making the soap late last night. Will try to post pics soon.
Used the leftover avocados today to make a dip/sauce for lunch. Mashed the avocado, added some sour cream, and seasoned with cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, and a small dash of cinnamon (this last one was actually an accident....thought I had grabbed the cumin!).
Anyway, had that on homemade tortillas with eggs and fresh deer sausage (BLECK!!!!). But my guys loved it, so all it good

Will try the lemon juice-freezing trick next time around....thanks!

My grandad once made an apple pie with cumin thinking it was cinnamon, and it wasn't half bad. So I bet a little cinnamon couldn't hurt lol

But anyway, you could also maybe try that fruit fresh stuff you see in the canning aisle at the grocery stores (it's citric acid mostly) - I have heard that can sometimes keep things like apples etc from turning, and I don't think you'd need to worry about neutralizing your lye

Lemon juice has a pH of about 2.5. Citric acid is 3. So I would say there is a potential of either one neutralizing some of your lye.

Eat it on toast....mmmm.....I'm a avacado addict. So much so I once had to stop eating them my hair was getting so oily :X

hmmm... Didnt know that about the pH of citric acid Irena, thanks for the info. I always just assumed since its not really an acid, but it never occurred to me about the actual pH, but at 3 I would agree about a potential reaction

i retract my earlier statement... except about the cinnamon
