Is fibreglass safe with lye? I suspect not, because I haven't seen any moulds made with it. I was wondering about impregnating a thick cardboard box with polyester resin and using it as a mould.

It's actually acrylic. I don't know if fiberglass and acrylic are the same but that's what they have

No, acrylic is nothing like fibreglass. Oh well. I'll have to make a test I suppose!

Check the resin very carefully after you unmold the soap, not sure what lye munched resin embedded in soap would do for your skin!

I was thinking of using just the polyester resin and soaking the corrugated cardboard all the way through.
I think I will just make a little piece and then test it with the lye.
