I made my solid sugar scrub experiments yesterday and today hope to play with emulsified scrubs. I have two recipes I'm trying out, but have questions about them both. Please help!
1.
http://swiftcraftymonkey.blogspot.ca/20 ... aking.htmlThis one uses soybean oil (some of her variations have it split 50-50 with olive oil). I don't have soybean oil, but do have sweet almond and rice bran. Would either of these work well in this recipe?
2.
http://www.theherbarie.com/Soothing-and ... Scrub.htmlThis recipe uses an ingredient I'm not familiar with: Cromollient SCE (used at 3% of the recipe). There is a note below the recipe that states: "AquaEm or polysorbate 20 may be substituted for Cromollient SCE." The item description for Cromollient describes it as providing emolliency. I don't have either of the suggested substitutes, so can I just leave it out?
Thank you, in advance, for anyone who can provide some guidance for me!
(Note: I found it interesting that there is an emulsified sugar scrub recipe on NG website that is very similar to Swifty's.
http://www.naturesgardencandles.com/mas ... iscrub.pdf The NG recipe changes a few things (like using beeswax), but there are some phrases in the instruction part that are pretty much word-for-word the same. I'm assuming this is okay?)
