I am wondering how long a soap may take to overheat. I made a batch with a bit of sugar in it and due to my fear of it overheating I put it in the freezer. How long should I keep it in the freezer? 4 hours? 12, 24, 48??? Should it be covered or uncovered while in the freezer? I'm sure that I should wait at least 48 hours to cut it - please don't tell me much longer!!!
If I take it out after 6 hours and put it on the counter, is the danger of overheating past or may it overheat on my counter tonight while I'm sleeping! I will cry if I wake up to failed soap! Is there a danger of ruining a batch by keeping it in the freezer too long? Will the freezer stop the proper chemical reactions taking place?
I am worrying over this like it's my sick baby!
