Teach Soap

Question. How do you cover and insulate textured soaps? Looking at these videos of beautifully textured tops and not sure how to do it! How long can it sit uncovered to set up before it must be covered to gel? Do you not cover it? Advice appreciated. Thx!!!

My mold is taller than I fill the soap, so I have room to fluff up the pretty tops and still have room to cover with a board and towels.

I gell my soap, for now. For textured tops I place a cardbox over the top, then a towel. Or you can force the gell phase, place in oven that has been prewarmed at 170 deg F for about 10-15mins, turn oven off and leave it for 24hrs. This method is called CPOP ( cold process oven process) There is alot of material on this forum about it too. So far it seems to work. ( both methods) If you want your soap to not go through gell phase place it in the fridge.

I use a heating pad and cover the mold with a shoebox and then a towel. I also spray the tops with alcohol for good measure.
