Ah, yes, that makes sense...I thought it was HP to begin with :)

Lovely soaps Asil02! I can really relate to the whole having to rebatch the first batch of HP, cause that's what I'm here to post as well.

Well, this was both my first attempt at HP (though that didn't work out, see this thread here viewtopic.php?f=3&t=9120 ) and my first re-batch. The original 2 pound batch was 92% Olive, 5% Castor, and 3% Beeswax. The scent is Patchouli, Tea Tree, Eucalyptus, White Thyme, and Peppermint EO. I mixed a teaspoon of spirulina with some of my oils and added them at the end. Whoo what a smell! It smells faintly of cow barn if cows ate seaweed rather than hay, though none of the smell seems to be in the finished soap. I was going for a crisp minty unisex herbal scent and I think I got it. Though I've added pure menthol crystals to minty soaps before the Eucalyptus and the Peppermint work together synergistically and I'm really happy with the scent. Since my HP came out crumbly like a piece of clay that has been allowed to dry out too much, and won't stick to itself, I rebatched with 8 ounces of whole milk. Rebatching is fun! I swear there has never been anything quite so satisfying to grate up as a failed soap batch!

Apo that looks great! Not sure about the cow barn smell but it looks great! I suppose the spirulina is what gave off the seaweed smell? I like the color. Makes me think of guacamole! Yumm!
My batch from yesterday was a fail and another opportunity at rebatch. Only this time I did it in the oven. I think I preferred that over my crockpot. I seemed to be able to keep it at a better temp and didn't have the mixture sputtering at me. Think I will go this route from here on as needed. It needs to sit in the mold a while as it seems soft, too.

Dawn, those look fantastic. I love the annatto coloring and the lavender & bergamot.

:) thank you!!

The apple/carrot combo was because I had too much of both batches and popped the extra in a mold together. The carrot is my HP that didnt go through phases like it should have. It is firming up, but is still really soft after 48 hours. No zapping, but it may just be for personal use.

Good work, Asil! It must feel great to get back into soaping. :)

Great save, Apo! That looks like a nice soap and sounds like it smells awesome.

Thanks Linda! It is really awesome getting back into the world of soapiness! Even with the two failed batches (that I saved) this weekend! LOL
Dawn those look fantastic! I love the color of the one with Annatto seed! Gorgeous!
Apo it sounds like you're soaping with one hand tied behind your back! Let us know how the oven HP does for you. I just cooked my rebatch just under the 200 degree mark. I checked it every 30 minutes. The batch was awesome to work with that way.

Those are some beautiful colors Dawn, and man have you been busy! I'm curious about the goats milk and activated charcoal, is the center dark because of how you poured or is it more of the middle going through gel phase and the rest not? Either way it's a really cool look!

Great job, everyone! I haven't been able to drop by the forum as often lately and I've missed a lot. I enjoyed seeing everybody's soaps! :)

I'm starting to gear up to make holiday soaps for my family and friends. Here's my latest soap - Hot Cocoa, scented with Bramble Berry's "Hot Cocoa" FO. Mmm-mmm, does it smell good!

Image

I separated out some unscented soap and colored it with TD before adding the FO to the rest of the batch. I didn't use any other colorants, since the FO discolors dark brown. I made an ITP swirl with my white soap in the scented portion, and topped that off with a layer of the unscented white. Then I sprinkled cocoa powder over the tops.
